male bred with your normal would be a good idea.

depends what your looking to come out with.

if you breed a male bee to a normal female, you'll end up with:
25% each of: Normals, Pastels, Spiders, BumbleBees

If you breed a male pastel to a normal female you"l end up with:
50% each of Normals and Pastels.

if you buy a completely new breeding pair (such as a male and female pastel) you'd get:
25% each of Normal and Super Pastel and 50% pastels.

Bumblebee x Bumblebee would come up with a variety of morphs:
Normal, Pastel, Spider, Bumlebee, Super Pastel and Killer Bee.

so it's all relative to hat you want to end up with.

Thanks for all the help. I'm looking forward to starting it but my snake is only 1 so plenty of time to research, lol is it 2 or 3 when you can breed them?

usually closer to 3 for the females

Find out what sex your current python is first. Then it's based upon size. Boys can go at a year and females usually 2 to 3.

It's a female. So I don't have to buy male yet until next year then he will be 1 and she will be three.

Why do you that if the op's done enough research I think he could make a good hobby

I'm not in it for a get rich quick scheme. Because I don't think it is especially in this recession. Instead I am fascinated in snakes and watching the grow. I really like the royals because you can get so many different colours. I no I won't be stuck with any as any I don't sell my friend who owns a reptile shop said he would buy them off me. So the way I see it I get to breed for my hobby and its rewarding.

Yeah. That's great and all but I know a guy that has some five gene royals he is trying to sell at one quarter of what they are worth and he still has them.

Royals are becoming quite disposable and it's fine you can dump them at tour local pet store but that doesn't mean they will go to a good home. Just keep that in mind.

Also your statement of " I am fascinated by watching them grow" doesn't hold much water either unless you plan on growing them til they are adult then selling them. Just saying.

I mean the parents and looking forward to seeing them lay eggs then watching them hatch. I'm curious as to all the different types of royals you can breed. In this area in the uk there is quite a call for royals.
