View Full Version : Hello from Colorful Colorado
I got my first snake while living in Alaska, an everglades rat. When I moved to the lower 48, he followed. This week I am bringing a carpet python home. I've been a lurker for a while now and getting a new species seems like a great time to get to know the community better!
Cheers,
Kari

Welcome to the forum :D My friend got an everglade rat snake for her first snake. His name is Severus and he's turning into quite the beauty. Hows the temperament on yours?

I like the name!
My guy is as docile as they come. 7 years and not a single bite. He's also very inquisitive and unafraid which makes him a little bit of a mischief. Would you say your friend's snake shares a similar attitude or is it quite different?

Hello! Welcome in from lurkdom. I think Everglades rats are some of the prettiest new world rats.
I lived in Colorado for a while, Denver/Aurora area. One day I caught myself thinking "I'm glad it's finally warming up today!" when it was only in the upper 40s. I came to my senses soon after and went running back to California. I definitely miss being within walking distance of several multi-story bookshops, though.

He her everglades is starting to calm down now. She got him when he was tiny so he was quite the biter.
