Love it. Reminds me of my Durango Mtn. King. (He is still as skinny as ever, as he feeds reliably, but only once a week.)

What is their temperament? Mine is so calm that it sometimes freaks me out. King snakes are normally a little more quirky.

I have many snakes and I don't handle them all.
Their temperaments are what they are....some are docile and some are squirmy.
Some prefer docile pets but I prefer them to be snakes....

I wasn't referring so much to the individual, but in comparison to other types of king snakes. I don't think I have handled enough king snakes to make it statistically relevant, but the California kings were the most quirky, especially in their feeding response. My Durango Mtn. King is at the opposite end of my spectrum, calmer than most of my corn snakes.

What I was wondering: Is this difference in temperament just a factor of the individual snakes, or how strongly does it differ by the type of king snake?

Mexicana complex kings and zonata are much more docile compared to getula or common kings. Triangulum are much more skiddish than them all....lol

Thanks for the feedback. Lampropeltis has always fascinated me in the sense that the snake's temperament seems to be all over the place. Most other snakes seem to be more consistent, at least with my limited experience.
