Hey guys.. So I am bored with my sons BTS tank. I want to go change it up. I am thinking of changing out his shavings with dirt/sand but want to see what you guys thought of that. Also if that isn't a good idea what can I do to make it look better... I might also build him a different platform. The one I built is boring me now.

Why does being bored always cost me money?? lol

Forum seems slow the past few days. I wish I had an idea for you. I've always liked that Eco-Earth coconut stuff, but it gets "old" like everything else does. The only way to upgrade that setup is to take that Dinosaur/transformer/power ranger thing on top of the enclosure in the 3rd picture and put it in there. :p He looks cute when he eats. Is he eating jalapenos???

Lol... My son would not give yup his walking talking dino to anyone or anything. HE loves that thing.

No he is eating green beans and snails mixed with a bunch of other stuff..

I personally would not use sand. It tends to "scuff up" the scales of most skinks.

Eco-earth/dirt/soil mixture sounds good though.

I like using the coconut husk. It has very low dust, great for burrowing, absorbent and easy to clean. I find with that I only have to do a full change of substrate about every 3-4 months. I spot clean it daily and remove any that get wet from water spills.
