I started breeding russian dwarf hamsters this summer and feed off the fuzzies and pinks to my snakes. I have discovered that my BP LOVES them. He ate a prekilled adult hammy today and I noticed that the hammy had some food in it's cheeks. Now I'm wondering how that is going to play out in Ecko's digestive track.
I feed my rodents a mix I make myself
1-50lbs bag of wild bird seed(mainly sunflower seeds, oats and millet)
1-50lbs bag of hog grower (it's different grains oats, barley etc)
1/2-50lbs bag of oats
1-5lb bag of cat food
10lbs give or take of rabbit pellets.
I am pretty sure the only thing that will be digested would be the catfood.
Think the rest will just pass it's way through like unchewed corn?

a snakes stomach acid deals efficiently with teeth, bones, etc,so i see no reason for worrying about hamster food mate

cheers shaun

If it can deal with a mouse's stomach contents, i can't see why it wouldnt be able to deal with a bit of hammy food :D
