I picked this girl up 3 weeks ago :)
I didn't ever plan on getting a large snake, but after seeing the pics of her litter and knowing my 6'x2'x2' viv would be empty I figured I'd get her :)

She's so tiny! Not for long eh?

Very nice mate, I too I'm a proud owner of a baby female ghost boa, and looking at your pic of yours mine is also the same size! lol yeah your right not for long tho lol
Very pretty! They were just born not to long ago huh? I was suppose to get a couple hatchlings about a month ago but I ended up getting a couple that were 10 months old. Not exactly hatchlings. Not that I'm complaining though they messed my order up I ordered two normal Columbians but I ended up getting two salmon het albinos. Congrats on your new little girl !

Very nice Colombian boa, sorry its not a red tail though.
Way to much misinformation out there still.

She may not be a red tail, but gosh does she have a beautiful one! Love her tail, particularly. I like how the red comes up from the underside of her tail as well as large saddles on top. Gorgeous new snake! :)

Her breeder sold her as a Columbian red tail boa :) She had normals and hypos. It was the dots inside her saddles that caught my eye!
She was Born Aug 6th.

Jay is the resident tail color cop. He's new school. They can be terribly annoying at times ;)

Jay is well within his rights to keep pointing out that common boa's are NOT "redtails"... It annoys the crap out of me too. It's not hard to do abit of research on an animal that you may have for 20 years, and the starting point is giving it the correct name. :)

*sighs* Common boas are just to common. I wonder why a direct translation of the scientific notation never became accepted. "Emperor Boa" has a nice ring to it. :D

Common boa's are just as stunning in their own right.. I just like things to be called what they actually are lol.

The problem with that convention is that the average person does not know what "common boa" means. Then again, I saw a "black & white red tail boa" advertised at a pet store. I let you figure out what that means. :D

BC longicauda ?
No, a simple anery BCI, not a Peruvian longtail. Of course, a potential buyer would be confused.
And before we get too much off topic: Gojira is pretty. But then again, I love normal BCIs. ;)

I thought Anery after I wrote the last post. :)
Sorry if correct information is annoying you:s
I'm just trying to educate as much rookies I can, what's your problem with that?
To the op, may I add that you have a nice boa.

Breeders use the term red rail to make it more appealing to the customer.

As you can tell she's my first boa :) I'm a colubrid fanatic. Thanks for clearling that up :) I mostly just call her my boa. She was in blue when she arrived, shed out and has had 2 meals for me :) She doesnt hesitat to take f/t mice. I have some rat pups coming in soon and when ever my rabbits decide to breed I'm going to see if she'll take newborn rabbit kits(going to see if my larger corns and bp will eat them too). I wish I could get a group of rats to breed for her but they are banned here. You can just get frozen.

:) So far she's keeping me happy!
I did have 2 ball pythons, I ended up trading her for my male pastel. I don't need 2 male bp's right?
I so need a bigger house!! I do have a huge space above my sav's cage where I could build a bunch of snake cages... lol!
Next year her albino arabesque, sunglow, hypo etc will be bred and of course she'll be posting baby pics... I'd probley go for an anery if I saw one... lol

I am so in love with this girl :) Why did I not move the rabbits outside earlier(I didn't get one previously because we have pet dwarf rabbits and I was worried of the "what if's")
She is an awesome eater! She had 2 hoppers(mice) tonight ran out of adult mice and petsmart only had hoppers. Accoring to near north rodents my order should be on the plane this week. I usually use snakesnax but they closed out...
