Completely lucked out on this guy, was again the only Mandarin rat at the Expo and in addition was male! Only happened to see him on my third pass of the table he was on. Some of the people manning the table were not terribly happy about him selling. He's likely an 2011 and is a good bit bigger than our female. Also currently without a name.

Was thinking of naming him Rue but kind of doing a Firefly theme with most of my other Old World rats, so might try to keep to that.

Some Mandarina actually have red on them....

He does have a bit of red on his scales between his saddles. Our female so far has more than him. I think he might be starting to go opaque in those pictures though.

He just ate for the first time today. Love my Asian rats! They are all such good eaters! Also decided to name him Malcolm, out female is named Inara so it seemed appropriate.
