The first of our WRE 2012 pickups. Got the best pictures of her of them all tonight. It's a female, about 2 1/2 to 3 months old. She is currently without a name.

Congrats, Charis! She has great contrast and a nice healthy sheen to her. It's easy to forget how tiny they are at first.....

She is a little beauty!! And it's so hard to picture my BRB being that small at one time:D

She was out and about exploring last night and despite the terrible lighting and the glass, my husband was able to get a few decent pictures.

I think those came out pretty good, look at all the bounce back in them. Pretty good shots.

Great shots under those conditions! She's totally got the "deer in headlights" expression. ;-)

This is one of my favorite pictures of her! Just after taking a drink.

We finally settled on a name for this girl! Took a little while but it was probably inevitable. Named her Zoë. And yes, any possible future mate down the road will have to be named Wash.

Not yet. Need to take some new ones. She shed a few days ago.

We have a 1.1 pair of Mandarin Ratsnakes named Inara and Malcolm and my female Thai Bamboo Ratsnake is named Serenity, though her future mate is not named in that theme.

Awww cute! You even caught some of her iridescence. Looks like she was behaving herself on the stick very well!

Charis
11-07-12, 03:12 PM
Fairly decently, she was moving faster than was helpful for taking pictures but we did get some decent ones so can't complain.

They tend to do that. ;-) Cameras, for some reason, are not very high on the list of snake Priorities. (Except as funky climbing branches.)

Zoe I see has some blushing in her dorsal spots...and some really nice white sides... my favorite aspect of the beauty of the BRB. She's really nice.

Charis
11-16-12, 02:25 PM
Thank you! We picked her over her brother because of the blushing and major white sides. Unfortunately the brother was very blue when we went to look at them. Made the choice very hard, trying to be fair as to which looked the best. But she had a lot more white and we liked that the best. They were both very sweet tempered.

Comparing two snakes when one is in shed is indeed a tough call. Looks like you picked a winner either way though. :-)

Again despite the terrible lighting, my husband was able to get some quite good pictures of Zoë enjoying her hammock tonight.

Love the hammock, before you know it she'll be too big for that hammock to support.
