When do pinkies become fuzzies?
I'm trying to figure out what size to get next. Some of the pinkies I got were tiny, probably newborn. Yet others are considerably bigger, and have clearly visible whiskers and even slight peachfuzz. I would have thought they'd be fuzzies, but I'm just new to this, so who am I to argue?
Anyways, if my snake is eating one of the bigger fuzzy pinkies per meal, it would seem that fuzzies would be the way to go. However, one of these bigger pinkies is about all she can take right now. If I knew roughly how much bigger a fuzzy is than a pinkie, I might be able to get an idea of what to order. Is there such a thing as asking for small fuzzies? Or just big semi-fuzzy pinkies? Nothing like making a fool of myself, but it's nothing new for me.
it is my belief that the bigger ones with whiskers and peach fuzz are fuzzies
they are about twice as big as pinks
(I'm feeding those to my normal corn that i got at the same show you got your motley)
I feed her one of those per week
when i order pinks/fuzzies i ask for a mix of sizes and that kinda takes care of it :)

I know what you mean. Every time I get mice from the pet store I get a different size of pinky or fuzzy or what ever. It's a pretty general categorization.
Check out the sites that specialize is mouse feeders. Some have pictures of the sizes. Sometimes it's based on length.
If your snake is eating mice with a fuzz on it then you can most likely feed average fuzzies. Depending on how many you order, the snake might be eating large fuzzies before your stock of mice runs out. So you could order a bunch a varied fuzzies and just feed the small ones first.
What kind/size of snake is it? It can probably take a bigger mouse that you think it can. It always surprises me to see how big a meal these things can eat.

I'm feeding two cornsnakes, one is almost 6 months old, she's on fuzzies, but the 3.5 month old is the one I'm wondering about. She doesn't have any problems with the 'fuzzy pinkies', so maybe I'll get some fuzzies and ask for a bunch of small ones to feed her first.
Thanks for the help :)
Fuzzy's are just after their eyes have opened. I find it easier to go by weight.

I have switched my corns to pinkie rats, they are 5 months old.
I also find that pinkie and fuzzy mice vary in size everytime I buy them. But the pinkie rats all seem to be close to the same size. just larger then the average fuzzy mouse. And it is all meat no fur. They are growing good on them.
Just my opinion

I consider them fuzzies before they've opened their eyes, but after they've developed an appreciable amount of hair...after they open their eyes, I consider them "pups" and then weanlings, once they are weaned...then small, medium, large...and so on...
I agree with Mike and Weather1, fuzzies (as well as pinkies, hoppers, etc) can come in a variety of different sizes. When I used to buy them sometimes pinkies would be as large as some fuzzies, and some fuzzies as large as some hoppers, etc. Generally fuzzies are - in the words of a customer that used to come in weekly at my work - a "pinky with fuzz" :D
I would say it's a fuzzy when it has fur and it's eyes are open.
