No not really tbh.. I think they are beautiful animals. Most of all the purebreds. Thb I don't get hybrids. To me if it happens in the wild then there nothing wrong with it. But for breeding snakes for different colors an patterns. I think it is wrong. Because what happens when there aren't anymore purbreds anymore? Come slowly killing of the snakes that you once love for colors and patterns. When do you say enough? After the sepices has died off?

Most of the snakes bred for patterns, colors, etc. as you say, would never have been bred in the first place without these genes showing in one way or another.
If you think about it, all thats happening is more snakes are being made rather than "real" ones being phased out. In fact, may more "purebred" snakes have to be bred in order to get the rarer forms.
In other news, dont ever own a dog then 100% of them are bred for certain traits, whether behavioral, looks, etc.

Anyway, back to snakes - These morphs are nothing bad thrown into the gene pool - the majority of them are the equivalent of an Asian human having a child with a Black human resulting in an asian-black human hybrid. Does that make them any less human or inferior in any way?

That said, nobody is cross-breeding (well some may have tried) any species of snakes. The only thing that is happening is mixing color differences within snake "breeds" so to speak. Like mixing a chocolate lab and a black lab breed and you get a Lab with a mix of those colors, still considered "pure breds" in some circles.

I kinda see your point.. But you never answered the question I was asking. When do you say enoung is a enough? Also why breed snakes that wouldn't have met in the wild? Cause people think that the snakes would make pretty different colors and patterns? An the black Asian what is up with that? I myself is Mexican and white. All honesty what are the chance of the Anaconda and Argentine Boa constrictor ever gonna met in the wild?

In regards to your question about mating in the wild its hard to tell because most snakes are very secretive about breeding but anything is possible if they were able to be bred in captivity then there is a strong possibility they can breed in the wild imo!

But some of these snakes would not meet in wild.. Just cause you put two different types of snakes together, an tyey mate in captivity. Doesn't mean they will mate in the wild too. Also how would these snake ever meet in the if there is whole ocean or thousands of miles between them? Also no one has yet to answer the real question when do say enough is enough? After people wipe out whole speices of snakes? Because we as people really don't realize how much harm we are doing until it is to late. Look at all the animals that are endanger of being wiped out completely cause of us.

I don't quite follow. The biggest threat to native snakes is habitat destruction. Some types of snakes unfortunately only exist in captivity these days.

Most of my snakes are native to North America, and I have morphs that are very unlikely to occur in the wild. But they do not have any advantage over indignenous snakes. My boas on the other hand would not survive in this climate, even though they are all normal.

The problem that Florida is experiencing with large snakes in the Everglades is about regular snakes being introduced into a new environment, and not so much about breeding particular lines of snakes.

Are you concerned about taking snakes from the wild? That would be the opposite of breeding.

If the said species is exticnt in the wild as many have been for a long time and only a handfull of people have hybrids I dont see a need to say enough simply because there is alot more people that breed snakes and keep the lines pure! So there is my opinion to your question!
