so im getting her tomorrow, she was FREE to a good home and I have the time and space. i was told she was an AMEL. which is pretty cool. glad I can give her a good home.

lol. I was just searching around on craigslist and I came across this add "free amel. corn snake" The guy who was re homing her was very knowledgeable and asked me A LOT of questions so I can tell he cares about his snakes.

Nice do make sure to put something heavy over that flap door corns are very good escape artists and even better at hiding I learned that the hard way lost a baby corn and there are holes along the baseboards that I didnt know about!

Yeah, theres a little hole in the lid that serves as a place to insert a pin to lock it in place. Did you ever find your baby?

No I didnt we searched high and low right by the tub was a little hole in the carpet and floor we found the remnants of a snake shed sticking out so sadly that snake is long gone I have learned a better way to secure the tubs

This guy was pretty smart about it tho, he said in the add "must have experience with snakes and be able to handle her, I'm not going to just give her to the first person that shows up" and after a while of talking snakes with him he sent her home with me. I had no fear of reaching in and picking her up and she's actually a very calm snake. Very glad I got to her as well. Your right, its a big gamble with the free to good home thing but I plan on keeping her fat n happy lol

Thats no good, sorry to hear you never found it. tubs are great when they are secured better, I was fortunate enough to see others mistakes and had my tubs secure before that happend.

So its feeding day for my other snakes and I figured I would go ahead and get her started on the same schedule as my others, I was worried she might not eat due to her being new but the only thing new to her is where her tank is, she ate like a champ. She's now chilling out being fat and happy. First feeding outta the way, all is well lol

I typically feed mine the day they arrive because if shipped the sender usually does not feed the snake close to the day it is shipped.

They are always hungry when they arrive.....
I don't know why everyone says let them "settle in" for a few days.

agreed. the only reason I waited an extra two days is because the guy I got her from feeds her every two weeks on monday, I feed mine on wednesdays so I figured I would try and make it easy on myself and keep them all on the same schedule. Either way, she ate lol
