I picked up a 2011 female hypo BCI a week ago at the CRBE. I love her colours and just wanted to show her off with her enclosure. Its my first boa species and shes been fairly good to handle so far. She refused a f/t rat today but that doesn't worry me. I have her on aspen but i'm wondering if eco earth would be better for feeding in the tank. shes about 2 1/2 feet and her name is Stella :)

Some have told me to feed in a bare tub. I suppose partly to prevent ingestion of substrate material?
thoughts?

Waste of time and more stress on the animal. Feed them in the viv they live in and don't stress them out by moving them around.

Would a bigger snake, say 3/4 grown, be less susceptible to stress?
and lets see them guns. Got a few myself:p

There is no need to move the snake.. moving a larger snake makes even less sense due to the chance that the snake will still being in feed mode and you getting bitten is higher.
I have gun pics in the gun thread.. http://www.ssnakess.com/forums/members-lounge/85833-guns-thread-pics.html

I was told the same. The reason they gave me is that it prevents them thinking you have food every time you put your hand in but I found they don't always eat out of my feeding box. They get stressed. I always feed in viv, they have never tagged me yet. Lol. My boa usually strikes from her branch so does not digest any substrate.
