I've been working with this amazing species for a while now and managed to get some hatchlings this season...
They are pretty rare here in SA so I thought I'd share them with you guys !

in that first picture,if you ignore the neck and look only at the head.....
it almost looks like a fish,if you scroll the picture down on your monitor,so you hide the fork in the tongue
i think its the head shape and eyes
i hope that makes sense :wacky:
great pic's,thanks for sharing mate
cheers shaun:)

Thanks a lot guys !
Haha...Shaun, I like the way you see the world haha...
@Lankyrob, These are pretty small snakes. They will probably not grow much larger that 70cm or so. The hatchling in the pic is around 10cm in length !
@MoreliAddict, They do have mild venom that's probably harmless to humans. Most bites from species in the genus Telescopus will cause a numbness around the bite site and the wound may bleed freely at times. But I honestly do not consider them to be "hot" as in Naja (cobra) hot. The closest thing I can compare them to would probably be a bite from a small False water cobra or Hognose snake.

Wow, these guys are kind of like pugs...so ugly they're cute *LOL* and i am a snake lover for sure, but this thing looks almost like it hatched a little too soon or something. i like them though!
Not that venomous, eh? could go onto my list of wants....hehehe
I love bug eyed snakes ^-^

Your snake is so cool! Are they more arboreal or terrestrial? Also, are they related to cat eye snakes at all? It kinda looks like one

Thanks guys !
These are terrestrial and also called Arabian cat eyed snakes Ivanator, so you are spot on.
I'll post some pics of the hatchlings once they start eating.
