too many monitors end up on Ksl.com

At the last expo here there was a vendor with two tanks full of baby Niles and savannahs all in great condition . . . but you know how they end up. Heard plenty of little kids asking for the niles since they were cheap, I would give their parents my two cents when the opportunity arose trying not to be too disrespectful of the vendor. I did hand pick Tinkerbell from them after looking at all the other Savs at the expo.

Hootinanny came from a kid that had just bought him a week previous then realized he did not want a 3 foot lizard in his house.

IF it survives, it's quality of life is gone anyhow.

It cannot dig nor limb without toes.

Can their bodies learn to adapt? Like a animal thats an amputee. Hope its not a stupid question but I dont know much about monitors! ;)

It has no choice but to adapt.

If it was in the wild, it would be mongoose food already.

It cannot dig nor limb without toes.I suppose you could make pre-made burrows for it, as well as ramps to climb on. Still, it will never be able to do everything it could otherwise.

at least this person knows it's in bad condition, too many adds will say "In great condition, just missing a few toes and part of the tail"

you cant place a price on life. honestly i doubt it would survive being shipped. the amount of daily attention required to keep it alive is just beyond any of us in this forum im sure. really heartbreaking

It's sad that people just go and buy them from the shop and don't do the research on them. It's the shops to blame as well they just want the sale. I gOt a heat rock and heat mat when I bought my first snake but I have never used them because I have heard bad things about them. What reptile can u use them for safely?
