I spent a good portion of the day at the Ft Lauderdale (FL) Repticon... I highly recommend it! It's still going on tomorrow if some of you can still make it out there.
I have a family friend who has 2 kids (ages 10 and 11) and they've never touched a snake, seen a monitor, touched a lizard, held a tortoise, nothing. So this was their very first experience at a reptile show, and I took them with me. I didn't get many photos since I was mostly focused to telling them about the different reptiles, and when they held or touched things, how to do so properly. The boy was very brave, and the girl needed more encouraging to touch things. They both did wonderfully considering they'd never seen or touched any of the animals they saw today.
We also got to see a 1-hr monitor show. Here are some pics:
