I've been waiting for my baby ball python to shed, for a little over a month. And the other day his eyes were glazed over and he was dull in color. I was so excited. Today, I take him out and his color is normal and eyes are fine. But no shed!! I'm so confused. Is it possible for babies to eat the shed? Because I've torn apart his cage to try to find it and nothing!

Usually after the eyes fog they will actually clear again right before they shed. I haven't heard of them eating sheds, I would keep a lookout over the next couple days.

When a snake sheds it will turn milky white then clear and normally a shed will follow a few days later. Your snake is most likely at the clear stage and will shed any day now.

When their eyes clear, and their color seemingly returns to normal, it is just a matter of time before you will find a shed skin. I would not take your baby out again until he's finished shedding.

Thanks guys! I guess I'll have to keep a look out for these next few days.

My BP tends to shed with all the skin rolled into a tiny little ball, harder to find than any of my other snakes who leave a nice long stretched out skin :)

what she said. the reason they turn blue is because they secrete a liquid in between the layers of skin to loosen the top layer in preparation to shed. if you handle them anytime during blue it can stick the layers and give a worse shed. :)

Thanks everyone! Guess I was just worried about my baby! Haha. He's in the process of shedding right now. (:
