Hello all, I am not new to snakes just been out a bit. I plan to get a GTP soon and want to ask a few things first.

1) will a 22"x18"x48", it can be used vertical as well if needed (75gal), tank work as a permanent home. I have an extra I planed to house another moray eel in but decided to go with a GTP if possible.

2) or should I just build a 48"x 36"x24"? I would be using a .25" wood panel and 1"X1" wood frame. Then fiberglass the whole thing and gel coat it so the interior and exterior have the same finish as the outside of a boat. It would have a glass front (not sure of details on it yet).

3) I'm having trouble finding a reputable breeder so if anyone could help with that it would be great. I'm just a little sketchy of pet stores and expos...

Thanks for any and all help

Antonio

hello and welcome

turning 22 x 18 x 48 upright, imo would not have enough ground space for an adult GTP mate

imo you would be much better, building the larger tank you spoke of

Okay so if I need to do the build cage for a GTP I think I will take my time and build in my free time. I will either continue on this thread or start a build thread if I can't find this one when the time comes. In the mean time I will be researching what type of herp I can house in my extra 75, I just can not stand to look at this tank empty just wasting space. The option to sell it off will be a last resort due to the probability of taking a monetary loss that I do not see necessary. If you have any suggestions aside from frogs, turtles or fish please share.

Thank you for the advise

Check with Terry Phillips if you want some awesome gtps, dunno.if he bred any this year but I saw some of his past offspring and they're top notch.
