when we got ted back in april we had no clue bout nothing ted come home with mites and we where on our own to get rid of those plus he had really really bad sheds. i felt like a horrible snake owner, i am very grateful to you folks for all ur help and advice. thank you

anyways i havent done an update on ted since than. june ted had an alright shed not a whole one piece shed but big chunks in july his sheds where even bigger chunks. his last shed was 3 pieces in total. he is now happily taking f/t medium rats and never ever misses a meal he eats every 10 days we tried for every 2 weeks but he was getting really really cranky, so we dropped it down to every 10 days. he still gets a live mouse as a treat every so often.

anyways heres some pics i took tonight while his tank was getting cleaned. we brought him out and put him on daddies chair that they both sit at together playing video games. wellyou might not be able to see well in pics but he completely wrapped himself around my purse lol. he knows where his food comes from lol. when we picked him up to put him back in his tank we picked up snake and purse lol.
anyways ehres our beautiful normal big guy. also he is not going in shed it was dark so the flash makes his eyes look funky. i cant wait till i can start handling my new baby boy so i can get some great pics of him too.

You have issues with your humidity if he continually sheds in pieces.

I just want to say....11k posts...suck it...

" he still gets a live mouse as a treat every so often."
He's not a dog. Snakes don't need "treats".
Feed him his meal as often as yo do and leave it at that.
Slippery slope.
Also, bad sheds is a sign of low humidity. You need to fix that, it won't resolve itself.

11000 posts mean NOTHING when you got a 7000 post bump from Wayne.
CHUMP.
NERD.
TWIRP.

ya i know about the humidity, hes in glass so its a constent battle, but its getting better. his humidity is kept at 60 by spraying and when he's going into shed i put a wet towel over his tank. when we first got him his first 3 shed only come off in tiny flakes, now his shed comes off in two or three big peices. i know its not ideal, but alot better and getting better.

Take him out of the fish cage. Problems will be solved. I don't ever mist my snakes. I simply ensure they have a water bowl and up the humidity by spilling some in the tub during shed cycles.

There's NO proof of any help from mods on post counts. Took me almost 10 years...

ya that the problem ted not techniqually mine and my bf has a problem with plastic totes. so i do the best i can. iv explained everything to him about how its better and holds humidity better, but he's stubborn. now my bumble bee is in a plastic tote and his heat and humidity is always in the good with no misting or damp towels or anything, but with ted my hands are tied on the glass tank as he's not mine. so i do the best i can.
