Hi Guys,
I got a wc retic 2.5ft hatchling i believe from a friend of mine. The problem is it only eat once in his/her stay at me for almost 4 weeks. I tried several kinds of feeders like mice, qual chick, rat pups. I tried a f/t mice but it was just ignored. I tried to put the snake on a tub with 1/4 water on it then put the mice, he/she ate it. but it was way back on his 2nd week with me. Then i tried it again after 4 days but he/she just kill it. any advice on this guys? tnx

You have tried a lot of things for only having the snake 4 weeks.
Stick to one schedule, one prey item and just be patient, DO NOT handle the snake at all until it has eaten at least twice for you.
Personally i would offer an appropriate size rat every 14 days and in between attempts only disturb the snake for spot cleaning and changing water.
The other option is to release it back to the wild where it belongs and if you really want to keep a retic buy a CB one :)

temps/humidity/substrate/enclosure size? Do you provide any hides? Babies can be finicky and nervous, even retics, where in your house do you keep it? If its in a busy part of the house all the movement could be stressing it out.

I agree with Lankyrob, turn it loose and get a captive bred one. If you can't afford a captive bred snake then you can't afford to keep a snake.

Exactly. The herp scene in asia is not the same as it is in the west.

The snake sounds stressed out to me I would feed one prey item and offer only that until regular feeding habits are established every 7 days or so

Being a new snake and also WC it would be best if it was quarantined away from your other snakes for at least six months, unfortunately it could already be too late now
