View Full Version : Introducing Serenity, the future girlfriend of Atari.
She isn't here yet, waiting on one more meal at the breeder's and some decent shipping weather. Picture is courtesy of Carol Huddleston of LowBellyReptiles.

Oh damn that's nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She is a Thai Bamboo Ratsnake, p. coxi. I have a male, Atari who has his picture in my intro thread. They are awesome snakes! I've been wanting one for years and finally got the male earlier this year.

Very pretty have never seen a snake like that before
They are fairly rare and Pro Exotics was one of the biggest breeders of them. Price jumped a bunch on them and they got much harder to find after the fire at Pro Exotics.

Woah gorgeous little snake with an amazing paint job! I bet they fetch a pretty penny
A bit high priced for a Colubrid but definitely cheap compared to say, most Ball python morphs.
And she is here! Some not very good pictures just after she arrived.

Very very nice! How much was she? If you don't mind me asking?
I got a supremely good deal on her because I'd discussed getting one from the breeder around the time she first got her male to pair with the female she had. We are both long term members of the same forum. This was before the Pro Exotics fire, after that the price on these guys went up quite a lot. But the breeder was kind enough to sell her to me for the price she had quoted me before even breeding her pair. She is selling the rest of the clutch, barring her keepers, for $200 and $55 shipping. She still, to my knowledge, has 1.2 for sale. But I've already directed a few people her way, so I don't know for sure that she still has all of those available. I can PM you her email if you are interested.
Got Serenity out last night to feed her, she ate right away, yay! Snapped a few pictures while she was out.

Gorgeous snakes!
Do they require high humidity? (I would think so based on the common name but ...)
Yes, they need higher humidity. About 60 to 80 % and they like it cooler, they don't do well above 82 degrees.

that's beautiful!!!! i love it! so showing the hubby to see if he wants a new snake...lol
Thanks everyone! They are great snakes, remind me more of a garter snake in manner than any of the new world ratsnakes I've handled. Very alert and aware of their surroundings. Can also live up to those racing stripes too! LOL! But my two are fairly calm with being handled so far.
