For those who haven't read my new guy post I rescued this little bugger from a massive camel spider during a bad monsoon. 2 inches in an hour out side of tonopah az

The attacker. At least 3 inches across. Have had a real problem with them this year.

After I mashed the camel spider the wind started to blow my little runt away.
Here his is in a sidewalk crack when I caught him. Yes, that's a common black beetle by his head, shows how tiny he is!

More pics of him post rescue. Named it Boid, short for grabboid. Hope someone gets the reference.

You know that isn't a baby king, right?

Well good stuff! I have the mother living in my olive tree root system.out front.
Hell this makes feeding easier.

I've had multiple reptileophiles tell me they were both banded kings.
That's good to know. Could a mod rename and move to the appropriate forum please?

The mildly toxic saliva info is slightly alarming.

Any reason why this wouldn't make a decent pet?

I love it when rescues are unquestionably "rescues" :D

It was pretty much my only option lol.

I hate camel spiders with a passion. Nothing like having a large one fall from the porch awning onto your bare shoulder.

Keep it on sand and feed it crickets.
Make sure there is a heating pad under one side of the enclosure and a water bowl.....

Their toxic saliva will not hurt you.

Already done with the cage. Happy I don't have to change substrate.

Not sure if I can find crickets small enough. Maybe meal worms until he's big enough for larger prey?

Is it hard to find small crickets in your area?
It would take 20 of the tiniest of crickets (pin heads) to make a meal for him.

I'll hit PETCO and see what they've got. I'm quit a bit out from the city. Nearest pet store is 70 miles one way.

Ya think he's big enough to eat an adult cricket? I can sure find one of those tonight and yo ink the legs off.

I'll give it a shot. Thanks for all the help and info. Glad I'm headed in the proper direction now.
