So this past weekend I was able to make it to the daytona show and I came back with this yearling coastal jag. Got a good deal on her and so far she has been handleable(only while cage cleaning, still letting her settle in) and has already taken a f/t rat pup for me. I was worried because I was told she was eating f/t mice and I have been battling with my ij jag to switch to rats(think I have finally found the secret with him:D). Can't ask for more then that, docile carpet(so far) and eating f/t rats. I really like how there is no pattern on her neck besides a little stripe that doesn't connect to anything.

Here she is, sorry for the crappy pics, she is still shy and wasn't crazy about the camera.

Thanks shaun, I couldn't get any dam/sire info. All I could get out of the guy was that it was a nice coastal jag to a coastal. He didn't know any of the lineage, carpets weren't really his main focus.

You can never go wrong with a jag. You could kill two birds with one stone and get a jungle jag...

always rember to ask if a jag is showing any signs of neuro issues.....

some do,some don't...

but it can happen, showing anything from mild head wobbles,to full corkscrews around its tank

cheers shaun

I definitely asked about the neuro stuff and I held the snake for probably close to 15-20 minutes seeing if anything would show. Nothing showed at the show and when I fed her, I didn't see any wobble. She just zoned in and struck the rat really hard.

That was what happened to me.
I suddenly decided I was going to get a jag. I loved the look of Sol , Todds jag. I googled for a jag carpet and found a jungle jag just blocks from my house. I went over checked it out. He said it was a male. Great I took it and he was cheap because he was nippy. After I got home thinking I compromised on getting a JJ instead of a coastal jag I realized that down the road I could breed him with my jungle female. He is 88% jungle so right away I would have high jungle jags. So a stroke of compulsion turned out to be the best idea anyway.
Jags are just awesome.

Hmm, I am off to a big reptile show in Doncaster (think its the largest one in the UK) at the end of next month maybe I'll see what is on offer at the time :)
