I bet if you tell us the reasons behind your fears we can help to eliminate them. Welcome!
Thank you all for the welcome. I guess my fear comes from seeing all the bad, and never hearing anything good. I love the outdoors and fear not knowing enough about them and maybe killing a 'good snake'. If there are really good snakes. Anyways thanks again.

Yes, this is very true... but there are variations... Some are good to have in your house and feed and hold and enjoy watching grow....
The others can kill your *** and are strictly good to look at through the glass at your local zoo..

Great post to a person afraid of snakes :suspicious:
Welcome. The best way to get over your fear is to handle a snake. Not a little squirly one either. Find someone with a larger slower moving snake like a royal python or a juvi boa. The small ones make quick movements that new comers can find spooky. Bigger snakes (doesn't need to be huge) move more predictably and for all of the people who I have tamed I have found this to be key in them gaining a trust in the snake. You will find once you break your fear you will want one. Most people do.
Good luck. Just jump in and get your hands dirty so to speak.

I'm calm. Thus I left it at that. I have had a few people who were terrified of snakes let me help them get to the holding point. That joke is only funny on our side of this, not to the fearful. I am just pointing out this may have been a bad time to joke and could spook an ophidiophobic person quite a bit.
