Am I feeding my Burm enough?

I'm feeding him a 7 pound rabbit every 3 to 4 weeks. He's got an obvious lump after eating and the bloat lasts several days. The temps and humidity are perfect and he exercises regularly. However, he doesn't seem to be gaining any weight.

Suggestions?

Thanks! :)

I think he looks great. I don't know if I'd change a thing.

If anything maybe give him one every two weeks or start giving him two a month. But truthfully he looks very healthy.

How long have you had him?

You're on a maintenance diet. For him to gain some weight would to feed him a bit more frequently. How much does he weigh? I can give a better guesitmate based on that too.

As suggested, I would feed him every 14 days. You don't need to pound these snakes with food but they do need a bit more than what you're giving him. Especially since he gets "exercise".

Everyone is right saying he's "healthy" but again, he will MAINTAIN that but he's not going to really grow.

Length, weight, and age?

Monty is 15 feet and about 20 years old. I don't have any way to accurately weigh him but I'm estimating his weight at 60 to 70 pounds.

I've had him for a little over a year. He was 23 pounds when I got him, and he went off food for about 6 months over winter. I'm trying to feed him more often but he goes into shed like every three weeks and won't eat while he's shedding. :/

By "exercise" I meant I actually take him out of his enclosure and let him climb and crawl around. I've never had a snake before but that seemed like it was worth mentioning?

I definitely want him to gain weight. I'm owner 03 and owner 02 said Monty was around 100 pounds when he got him. Owner 02 said that Monty was fat... like that he had fat rolls. Owner 01 fed Monty a 15 pound rabbit every two weeks. Owner 02 said Monty was maintaining at about 80 pounds, and he was feeding him rats and rabbits.

Great answer. I would feed every 2 weeks.

I would feed him when he'll take it, for a while. I think he looks like he could gain some weight. He looks good, but i just think he could gain and still look good.

Good on you for asking though.

If he's shedding that frequently then up the intake at the once every 3 week feeding.

I'd attempt the 7 lb rabbit every 14 days right now and if he's in shed too much then I would up that to at least a 10 lb rabbit every 3 weeks.
