I agree. But it may be a bush viper of some kind. Please don't mess with it or you will be in for a trip to the hospital.

Could it be Trimeresurus fasciatus, sulawesi pit viper?

That, my friends, is Tropidolaemus wagleri, from the size and body structure it is a female Sulawesi locale. The common name is Wagler's viper or temple viper.

I own two of these beautiful snakes- one female Malaysian/Sumatran phase and one female Sulawesi phase. They are wonderful snakes - large, impressive, yet surprisingly placid and docile. Look up my thread "wonderful Wagler's"

dbassa, that picture you posted is labeled incorrectly. The picture is of a Tropidolaemus wagleri. This is a Trimeresurus fasciatus: PetHobbyist photo gallery > Vipers > Trimeresurus fasciatus (http://gallery.pethobbyist.com/photo.php?id=5580&cpage=0&size=big)

There is the link to my thread on my two Wagler's vipers. There's a lot of good discussion on venom and care there.
