i've had tarzan for about 3 weeks now and he bites whenever i go near him. I didnt want to but i started using gloves because i would get bit atleast 7 times everytime i pick him up. How long should i expect it to take for him to calm down and be able to take the gloves off? And does anyone have any tips on how to get him to calm down?

We have had our jungle for two years and he still bites when we gethim out of the viv so we use gloves and a hook. Once he ks out we take gloves off and get rid of hook and free handle with no issues.
Some carpets seem to be very viv defensive, is this the problem with yours?

no he bites inside and outside the enclosure. He even bites the hook.
Its weird though when he arrived in the mail he didnt bite at all when i took him out of the box. Since them he bites if i get anywhere near him.

He was probably cool and inactive after being shipped, now he is up to temps he is more feisty, some carpets are just like that! :)

Use the gloves and handle regularly. There is no single answer to your question. Robs carpet still bites and our Jag has stopped after about 2 weeks. So anything goes. Just keep trying.

My girl took almost a year to get used to handling. Some take a shorter time. Consistency and patience!

My jungle is a bit of a spaz when i first take him out but calms down but has never tryed to bite so i guess im lucky compared to others, cuz gettin tagged is anoying but not too painful like a paper cut

Took about 6-8 months for Adrien to calm enough to hold without being nipped at. I still take him out with a hook, he is fine now once he is out.
