So Im guess this is her new favorite spot. Its up right near the Heat panel. the funny thing is the heat for her hide is right at 91 regulated with a thermostat but I woke up and this is where she was, brought her down and fed he....20 minutes later she back

should I try and tighten the cord up? I know it wont be long before she is too big to do this

My GTP does exactly the same thing, i know he uses the rest of the viv as we find poop and urates all over but during the day he is constantly on the wire to his heater! :)

I give him some things to climb on and then tighten the cord.

I have heard retics don't shed as we'll as other so I plan on grabbing something other than her hides to help her and will grab a lew sticks as well

as long as both ends of the chord are secured so when he does perch he doesn't move it I would say its fine. I do give my SDs a place to perch because they do it more frequently than any of my other snakes on the edge of their water dishes. I just used some pvc pipe and some 90* fittings and T fittings to make it at various heights on one assembly.

That's bogus. Mine shed as well as the rest of my snakes. Yours will too if the heat/humidity is right.

It's secure. Its actually secured all the way til it exits the cage. That spot there would secure well and she seems to like it

If the retic has the correct humidity it will shed just as well as any other snake :)

Thought that sounded weird. I got her Friday night and the next morning she was done shedding. I had the humidity about 55% but a little misting would have been perfect for her

55% is quite low, i keep my SD at 70% and he sheds fine everytime except his very first shed with us which we put down to being transported and a new enclosure :)

I would try and maintain it over 70. That's what I do for mine and they have never had a problem shedding. Let your snake speak to you, if they have a crummy shed, bump the humidity and verify temps before doing anything else.

I do now. It's around 75% right now. I use paper towels and it's maintains humidity great. Like I said it was her first night and was still making adjustments. My other snakes shed perfect as well and all are on thermostats. Lol
