Hi guys, I am new to bloods and short tails and I am hoping you could help me understand some things about morphs. I just got what was called a het granite borneo short tail. To me he seems to be displaying the granite trait ( i will get pictures up soon) but perhaps not as much as a true granite? Is this an incomplete dominance thing? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!!

no idea about bloods, but when talking genetics when somehting is "het" it does not have any visual appeal to it...
het simply means it carries the trait for granite...
like i siad, thats only to the genetics to me it looks like a black blood, lol not a blood guy at all sorry!!

Actually some snakes that carry a her gene can have their appearance changed by the het gene.
Aaron told me that he has two lemon blasts that look quite different. One happens to be het hypo. I also know that a lot of het leopard boas have a darker coloring and a heavier pattern.
That goes back to her question about incomplete dominance.

Boa also tend to look different in cases where they are carrying a mutant gene aka het. Yes there are blood morphs and they are just  That is a wicked looking blood you got there WhitneyJo!

Thanks guys, like I said this is my first short-tail python and I can't believe I jumped into morphs already :) I got in touch with the breeder today and apparently my little guy was one of the less spectacular of the clutch, but i'm not complaining ;) thanks for all the input!!

Sometimes the least spectacular are the ones who produce the most spectacular from good pairing ;)
