Well, As some of you may recall, I have been keeping a Female dwarf Retic for going a year now
Earlier Today when i walked past her Cage, She struck at the Glass Rather violently. Now She ate Yesterday evening, so Some aggression I expect, however at this time, her lower jaw on her right side is bent up and in slightly, I took a look, and there is very little blood and im not sure if its just unhinged and she will realign or if its possible her strike on the glass may have broken her jaw
Pictures will come as soon as I get a friend to help me hold her steady while i take a few pictures, she is still in full on feed mode so it is not possible for me to take them alone
As always thank you for your time and your assistance

I'll wait for pictures but try not to stress her out to much.

Im going to go at it carefully with a sterilized plastic rod to hold her mouth open while my friend takes the shots, if you have any suggestions for holding her steady, or getting her mouth open, im all ears, I want to stress her as little as possible

I am thinking you might want to wait a day if she just ate last night.

Alright, I will, I'm just worried, a quick search into potential causes yielded some scary horror stories
for now I will just open the front of her cage and take a shot or two of her mouth closed

this is the only shot i could get without causing unwanted stress
as you can see her lower jaw appears bent inward
I did a check to see if the lip is hung up on the toith, and it is possible, its just really hard to say
I also got her to bite me on the arm, because when my carpet had a similar issue a while back, that corrected the issue, no dice here i am afraid

i had a jaguar python, that badly bruised its jaw striking the heater guard, while in a feeding frenzy
it hung out of shape and was no use at feeding time
he used the side of the tank to push the prey, into the left side of it's mouth because the bottom left jaw, would NOT move,it healed 100% after 3 or 4 months
an x ray at the vets, would give you peace of mind though

That is what i was afraid of, Called my vet last night, Mad an appointment for my next day off, Hopefully this isn't to bad
In the future, do you guys have any suggestions to cut down on the manic striking when things walk by, Covering the cage front perhaps?

you could try giving her extra cover,to make her feel more secure
i use fake plants, with silk leaves, imo it gives them something to hide in
please let us know how it goes at the vets mate
cheers shaun

Let us know what the xray shows. Could just have his gum caught on his tooth. I know Stephan Bakir's male did that last fall(ish). Same story too, smashed his face on the glass.
