I came across this on facebook. I think it looks like a Speckle King snake. I call BS that the snake killed the dog. What are your thoughts?

This guys dog died from unknown causes , Mayyybe a snake bite. He then took a local snake, or his pet snake and placed it beside his dead dog, put together a picture, and posted it on fb to get as many likes as possible.

Lol just how I imagine it going down. Just kidding. I never realized the snake was dead. And Val may be right, it does resemble a cobra but more like a king to me

I don't think the snake in question is a speckled king.

Kinda looks like a dead cape cobra to me but I am not very cobra savy.

Does anyone know where this took place? It appears that the sign behind the dog is written in English and I don't know of many cobras running around loose in the US.

Hey Jerry? Would you mind telling me of the places in the united states where cobras run loose? That way I can avoid those places like the plague.

That article was from back in 2007. It happened in the Philippines. The cobra species in that neck of the woods are called Naja philippinensis (aka The Philippine Cobra).

My point exactly. I never heard of Cobra problems in the US, unless we are talking about the one from the Bronx zoo that they lost, but did find later.
