I would guess he is a troll, the text and pictures stolen from somebody, his flag is of Great Britain but his email address is Spanish.................

But Vincent has/had some lovely monitors

Vincent has some awesome monitors. He works with a trio of crocs and keeps getting closer and closer to hatching out cbb crocs.

There's a couple people in the states with CBB croc monitors. They're definitely a species I want to work with once I can be sure of improved temperament. Awesome looking monitors.

Not as many as you would think millertime. There are a lot that claim it but not very many can show evidence (no eggs pic, mating, etc). Reptile rangers is the most recent I know of for USA cbb croc monitors and that has been a while. The ones that are on kingsnake off and on that are cbb are shipped in from Indonesia. Not to say there are not a few hobbiest out there that get lucky.

Have you ever seen a picture of a cbb monitor lizard hatching in an Indonesian "farm"?

Only Danny Gorman (spelling) is the only one I could link you too. He used to ship them across to USA. I don't think he is really a "farm" by terms but I will link info to him later.
The other "farms" could be bogus or taking in pregnant mothers-gathering and hatching the eggs, etc. Without being there and seeing documention then it I'd most likely a lie also but once again that would only be an assumption on my part.

@millertime Cbb doesn't make croc monitors any safer. The problem with crocs is that they dont show that they are about to lunge at you. I have been chased out the cages by wc and Cbb. The Cbb tasted my flesh more then any wc ever has.

These are animals. We can NEVER be "sure" of temperament.

And what are crocs, like the second or third largest Varanid on planet earth??

These animals could take off your hand and swallow it.

Reminds me of an argument I got into with a chap that does not think an angry Perentie (fully grown and healthy) could disembowel a human.

Course it good.

hell an argus could do that

Think there the second theres a pic somewhere of an 8' croc next to an 8' komodo... bulk wise theres not a lot in it.

One thing is for certain, Varanids command respect, even the tiniest ones.

none, said I wanted to work with didn't I? They fascinate me a great deal but also, as Wayne demonstrated with that pic from Jen showing her boy's teeth, make me a little uneasy based on their reputation.

Not as many as you would think millertime.

I said a couple, couple = 2, those two people are people I trust very much to know where their animals came from. They're very well respected members of the retic nation.

Wayne, Crocs are supposedly the longest monitor and third heaviest. Komodos heaviest and 2nd longest and Asian water monitors are the 2nd heaviest. But this is just a generalization.

Indeed, all varanids command respect. All animals do.

Truthfully they are one of the few monitor species that put the willies up me...

There like a snake to me totally unreadable... most give plenty of warning...

the three i have worked with... one never did anything even when food was involved just sort of plodded over...

the second was a baby... i.e 3' did not like people and was not afraid to show it.

the fourth was 6' Didnt like people either... and deffinetly did not show it...

explosive i think is the right term to describe how fast it went from sat there to lunging at you teeth first...

Fun sp

I've heard similar stories. I won't get a croc any time soon, but I'm looking forward to the day when I do get one and can start working with the fantastic and mesmerizing species.

Supposedly crocs are the longest, but far from the biggest in terms of actual bulk. Komodos still has them beat there, of course.

Have to admit, Im very much against the sale of crocs without a license.

Oops, didnt see there was a page two here and that Kyle had already posted the length information.

By the way, welcome back Kyle.
