I got a call from a NYSDEC Law Enforcement Officer asking me if I wanted 2 snakes that they confiscated from some one who was keeping them illegally. Of course I said yes, because I wanted to give them a good home. One is a 4' Burmese Python and the other one is a 8' Reticulated Python. Both are beautiful snakes. The Officer brought them right to my snake room.
It appears that they are cracking down on people who in NY are keeping snakes that are illegal to have. These were from a breeder that was turned in buy a customer. You never know who will turn you in, so lets keep it legal my friends.

Glad you took them in :)
It's hard to believe that the customer is the one who turned in the seller... Yup, definitely a reminder to abide by the law (even if we disagree with it).

They look to be in pretty good shape. Sad that they've been confiscated probably on a technicality :(

Unfortunately in NY, any snake that normally gets over 10' is illegal to keep without a LICENSE.
Good on you for asking them in. They're both beautiful. You seem to see so few normal burms, it's a shame.

Ohio has passed a similar law, but details of the licensing are still pending. I'm considering getting a license just in case, even though none of my snakes currently require one.
Congratulations, by the way. She is beautiful.

They both were in great condition.
Well at least you they were well taken care of even if they were illegally being kept.
