I defer to the Thamnophis expert on this board: what species do I have here? (this little guy is the tiniest snake I've ever seen!) :) I was on my morning walk the other day and noticed a kitty cat batting something around behind a car. Turns out it was this tiny guy, and I'd like to think I saved him from being first, A) an amusing cat toy, then B) ultimately, breakfast! From the bit of research I did, maybe elegans elegans? Thanks!

To me it looks like a "Thamnophis cyrtopsis"

To me it looks like a "Thamnophis cyrtopsis"

Not in California.

That looks like a Thamnophis Ordinoides.
