I got back from my vacation a few days ago. I had a great time! We took the long drive to Tobermory, Ontario and stayed in a cottage for 6 days.
There are a lot of Northern Watersnakes up there! I caught seven snakes in total, and two Painted Turtles.
I can't post the pics of one of the snakes or the turtles yet, until I get the photos off my dad's camera (we used it kayaking because it fits in a waterproof camera bag!)
Driving down the narrow road to Cabot Head. Such a beautiful view!

A Mayfly or similar species. Haven't looked it up yet...

Turkey Vulture sitting on the sign at the dump. We hoped to see a bear, but only saw these guys.

We then took this beast of a boat to Flowerpot Island for a hike. This Zodiac has 2100 horsepower and can reach a top speed of 80kph. It was like a rollercoaster ride.

I was just thinking I wasn't going to see any snakes until this big boy showed up.

Back to the beach, and my luck got even better. There were snakes and skins absolutely everywhere! Apparently there are few natural predators on the island so snakes flourish.

This one was in shed, so I moved him away from the trail and all the people.

This guy was 'periscoping' in order to keep an eye on the dozens of people waiting for the boat.

These butterflies (Aphrodite Fritillary) were everywhere, and very unafraid of us. You could touch them and they wouldn't fly away.

Also, a goat fly or robber fly, not sure which yet.
