... tried it yet? I just bought one for my Emerald cage but I have not put it in yet? I tried it in a bowl of water and it is way cool, but I don't know if I want to drop it in my Emeralds water bowl just yet. Any thoughts or opinions on this thing?

I've use it to humidify my cage too. I put the fogger inside a plastic food container and attached it to a "L" shaped plastic pipe. Then I fill up the container and put it on top of my cage. Since water mist is heavier than air, the whole cage will looks like a misty rain coming from above when you turn it on (takes about 30min). One good thing I try is that I can change the water without disturb the animal inside the cage; the container and fogger won't get dirty by feces or other things coz ultra-sound generator of the fogger doesn't work well if it is dirty. Another thing is, don't get it running on too long since the heat generated by the ultra-sound will damage the fogger easily (I saw PJ pets burnt out a few of them), if it get dirty use alcohol to clean it can help to maintain the fogger to work for a long time.

Do you have the problem where a jet of water spurts out of it? It may be simply because the water dish I am using is too shallow..

Yes! Edwin you are right, if the water is too shallow or not enough water, a spurt or a small fountain will form. I usually leave the fogger about 2 cm or more below water level and I also use a container which can hold enough water so the set-up won't dry up in a 24hr period. But I've work around with a few types of containers in order to make the fogger work smoothly.

Thanks ETET, I have been experimenting with different container sizes, and have fixed this problem. I have been using it for over a week on a timer and it really helps maintain humidity levels.

I also use a timer and the fogger will be on 6 times a day and the animals enjoy the fog very much. I am going to get a couple more.

The fogger is supposed to have a jet of water. It says that somewhere in the manual....

If you guys put the fogger in the actually cage with your herp, make sure that you watch the animal so that it does not come in contact with the jet of water....Try stickin your finger in it, and you'll see what I mean......IT BURNS!!

Yeah I am ed's bro and it is not good for the snake. Just stick in in a bowl and put a lid on top. Don't seal the lid just make a little hole for the fog to come out of.Put that on top of the tank and it will go right down into the tank. Another alternative is to buy the waterfall at the pet store. It's really pretty and there is a little slot for the fogger. Really cool gadget.

Waterfall is really cool!! I should try it next time!! Jerome you are right that the tank will go into the tank, thats why I use addition metal frame above the tank. It may sounds making things complicated, but my reason : trying to avoid handling the animal while doing routine maintainence as much as possible. Thanks for your advice to prevent a castrophe of the animal.
