Odd noise..

I actually feel like a rookie asking this, but....

My new retic was making an "exhale" noise when I was holding it today. Not a wheeze. Just like a sigh almost. There have been no "bubbles", mucous, or true wheezing. No discharge either. She acts perky and has good tone. Her enclosure is 82-95 gradient measured by heat gun, UTH. Humidity around 50-60%.

I may be over thinking this. I've never had a snake with an RTI in the 30 odd years of keeping them. And, this the first time ive ever been aware hearing this noise. This may just be a "heavy exhale" and I'm being overly freaky.

Does this sound infectious to you guys?

doesn't sounds like much to me. my retic makes noise too i was startled at first as well. they're just vocal snakes.

keep an eye on it though. just incase

yes some of my nervous carpets,can get a bit vocal,when being taken out their tanks,or handled in general

Sounds fine, from what I've seen it happens usually when they're wrapped tight around something, so that their airway is under a bit of pressure.
I'd bump the humidity a little though, it sounds a bit low.

Drop the hot spot, no more than 90, I keep mine at 88. Bump humidity, above 60 at minimum, over 70 is ideal. Babies to 12-18 months should be over 80 but won't suffer if its in the 70s.

But retics are heavy breathers, I wouldn't worry about it. If you want to confirm pop its mouth open and look for mucus, but I wouldn't encourage it since its a stressful experience for both you and your snake.
