From somebody with over forty, they are absolutely wonderful! They all have different personalities, and the variety of morphs make them quite addicting.

Be sure to avoid two males, though.

We have a leopard gecko and she is great. Fun to handle and feed. Shedding is neat to watch. All around great pet.

If you're looking for a smaller lizard, you can't beat a leopard gecko.

Yes, once they get to be several months old. Hatchlings no....but if I remember correctly from when I was breeding them many years ago I could tell by maybe 4 to 5 months of age.

Gender is very easy to distinguish on adult and subadult specimens.

Highly recommended! Leos are wonderful starter lizards.

They are the perfect pet in my opinion. Almost anyone can own one of these with no trouble at all. Two can be housed together but in my opinion, when they are housed seperately, their colours are brighter and they appear overall healthier.

Leopard geckos are solitary animals in nature. Many people keep them together but I have also heard numerous stories where after years of happily living together that one leopard gecko hurt or killed the other. I wouldn't recommend housing them together but I would recommend one as a pet in a minimum of a 20 gal long. They are fabulous pets.
