Agreed. You can have the blood supply to your brain cut off in causing rapid unconsciousness and eventually death even if your breathing is entirely unobstructed. Just because you can breathe, doesn't mean you can't be be killed. Plus, when you fall over you might fall on top of your lovely IJ and hurt her, and that's just not nice!

when i taught judo,anyone who did NOT tap out before becoming unconcious,was banned from attending the club for 6 weeks,this taught people just how serious/dangerous a cartoid artery choke can be...!!

it starves the brain of oxyegen near enough instantly (2,3,seconds and your mind starts to go fuzzy)
