View Full Version : Parting ways with an obscure species

Well, I'm kind of in a pickle. Its a tough decision, but I've decided to part ways with my Aesculapian snake. I've come to the realization that I do not really enjoy him as much as I used to and would rather focus on other projects. And due to Europe (specifically, France, Italy and Portugal) protecting all of its native species, the liklihood of me ever locating an adult female is slimmer than it was before. Additionally, I really do not have the money to pursue the matter anyway, even if I did manage to find someone who had one, and again, I've kinda lost interest in the project.

So I would really prefer him to go to someone who genuinely has a desire to work with this species and has the connections to pair him up with an adult female. So far I'm coming up with zilch.

Another alternative was to simply donate him to a zoo somewhere that could do the above, or at least display him so that others can enjoy him, as opposed to him just sitting in my living room. But what zoo to pick?

Advice or suggestions welcome.

Nope, none at all!! But good luck on your pursuit of finding him an appropriate living situation.

I don't know where to ever get it a mate, from. I googled it and it looks like a sweet little snake though!

Have you called any zoos in an effort to see what their thought on it is? Maybe even a local zoo can point you to to a really solid zoo with reptile projects like this in mind.

Maybe join an European forum and see if anyone can help there.
