I keep boa's but I'm starting to dig monitors , and I handled some baby ackies and Argus at the shop but adults get too big . is there any monitor that will do fine as an adult in a 4'x2'x18" AP type cage? Max size of say maybe 18 inches - 24" with tail and all and under 5 pounds ? Link me some suggestions please , I can handle intermdiate lvl as far as care and in the 300$ range. The argus was damn cool! is there a mini argus out there that gets maybe a foot?

As far as I am aware for Small monitors Ackies are the best. You can keep a single one in a 4 x 2 cage just fine. Granted bigger is always better. I was looking into getting a Trio of ackies and I still am eventually.

From what my research told me Ackies are anywhere from 16" - 24" total length. I am not sure if it matters if it is a red vs yellow or male vs female that dictates size. Let me search for the thread I had on here asking about them and see if I can get you anymore information.
Just went back and read my old thread.. yeah.. no real info in that one..lol Hopefully someone can get you linked to a breeder and you can get better information there.

Ackies, green and black trees ( you'd be better off with much more height if you chose tree monitors though)
