Here is Dukey. He is a Mack Snow Male leopard gecko. I've had him for about 3 years, since he was the tiniest hatchling. As you can see he is Yellow but he was born all white and black with no yellow.
I keep him well fed but not fat, like many leopard geckos out there now adays.

Really? I think he's quite small to be honest. You should have seen my old female I used to have she was huuge! I'll try getting some pics she was around 10 inches or so.

Yep very large with a nice obese tail:p
moshirimon
06-26-12, 07:28 PM
I wouldn't call dukey obese lol. I'd say he's good weight for a captive animal. Remember leopard geckos tails are a lot thicker than most lizards in comparison to their body. They store a lot in there loll

Yeah I know he is not but i love leopards fat tails. LOL

Lol same. Completely different texture than the rest of their body

ever get bit by one? wow do they have some clamping power for such small lizards.

I have got bitten by one. To be honest I would rather get bitten by a Gecko than a snake any day. A gecko I don't think hurts that much it just bleeds a lot sometimes. As with a smaller snake they clamp on and sometimes they start constricting your hand and twisting. I got bit by a small garter snake that I caught and I think it hurt more than a gecko bite. Although I am kind of used to it as when my gecko was a baby he was easily startled and liked to bite me.

Yeah, I have. I had one of my big males hang on to me for a good 20 seconds.

Theyre power is amazing. Specifically the leopards compared to other geckos. Not only do they hang on but sometimes the press HARD and loosen up, HARD and loosen up, HARD ..... etc. you get the idea.

Wayne, you have a leopard gecko? Awesome.
Had it a couple years now, One day the doorbell rang and this young man just handed me the tank and all, because his mom was sick of driving into town to buy crickets.

I don't think that's lame THAT bad. My two new ducks are named Black and White. White is mostly black and Black is mostly white.

Just like our BP, it simply happened.
However, the BP already was named "Kane" so I just kept the name as is.

Beautiful Leopard Gecko, what's it's temperment like, does it sit still in your hand or try to run around? Mine has never bitten me except when I was a kid I held my finger on the end of it's nose on purpose so it would bite me so I could see what it felt like, I don't think that counts. It never hurt or bleed at all.

Cute leo ... but then they so often are. :)
As far as bites go, a bite from a tokay is FAR worse.

Ha! My husband's been bit by Amazon tree boas, caimans, blue tail monitors, nile monitors, and horses, and the only time I have EVER heard him scream was when I tokay got him.
i got my finger snap bad a mount ago... first time in 9 years... i still have a bad scar... that dam thing made me bleed like hell…

I like their personalities though. makes them a challenge i've always wanted to get one and tame it down. tame tokay would be real rewarding

Yep, that's why we keep them, too.
An internet friend of mine has a tame tokay.

i posted earlier that i used to have a huge female a while back that was around 10 inches. she was huge. I don't thinks she had giant blood just a big normal. But yes i'd love a giant, don't know where to get one though.
