so my BRB is about 1.5 hours away from the delivered time!

i cant wait, thought i would start a thread on her now. curretnly in a 64qt tub, but looking for a nice cage for her, as she will be a pet, and nothing to do with breeding.

pics will come as soon as she is delivered, and maybe an unboxing video! then she is off to rest for a week or so.

yes- from the pics i seen, both the dad (HIllis- if your familiar with snakesitters posts, and the mom Alexandrite) both look pretty orange, she is a little dark right now, i think she will be going into shed too.

not sure off the top of my head, ill have to look at her care card...

but here is some bite pics. i moved her from her 64 qt tub to a smaller 15 qt, the 64 wouldnt get a good temp, so i didnt want it, the 15 is smaller, and crammed, but good warmth and humidity...

she was nice out of the bad, but while i was digging around for her, i hit her right on the nose so i made her mad... few bites and i picked her up and she was fine... shes off in her new lil home now:)

i have noticed once they are in their hide or moss , they get nippy . i usually have to touch him gently so he balls up then scoop him out and wait for him to wake up a bit then he isnt nippy but if i reach down and grab at him he strikes lightning fast.

She's looking good, Dereck! Glad to see she made it in one safe and happy piece! Good job capturing her iridescence, by the way!!! :D

I'd go with one smaller meal for the first one, then continue with rat fuzzies. After all, looks like she already had an appetizer of finger... ;-)

Wups! :::shamed breeder ;-)::: She's usually really friendly! If she bites you again in the future, pick her up and hold her for a moment or two, just to teach her that biting does not mean freedom.

With mine, I've found it's all in the approach. If I am confident and gentle, and do not threaten the head, I can pick them up pretty much any time -- even a mid-body pick from above. Provided, that is, I've not been using that "rat-scented handsoap".... ;-)

Again, I'm thrilled she made it safe and sound and that you like her. Thank you again for your business.

thanks you all for the comments... i will be using a smaller meal for the 1st meal in my possesion (as you said in email Cliff, ) as for the bitting.. it was my fault, i could not find her in the 4-5'' of cypress multch, and when i did find her, i bumped her right in the head... after the 4-5 bites, i picked her up for about 5 min. while i changed over her tubs.. and shes been in there ever since.. currently 81 warm side, and 74 cool side. hihg humidity (tub is soaked)....

thanks again Cliff! i am not going to be intimidated by her like i was my other one, she was mean (when sick/not doing so well)
