As a lot of you know I have been thinking of what snake / lizard to get. I think for now I have decided on a Irian Jaya Carpet Python. This is were you come in. If anyone has any good care sheets can you please post them because I hate looking for care sheets when you don't know what is wrong and what is right. My other question is this. My friend used to have a Crested Gecko and it died because it broke its back in a fall. He is willing to give it to me if I give him a game called Skyrim in return. The question is... could an Irian Jaya Carpet Python as a baby live in a 12x12x16 tank for a little bit while it is a baby. If so how long would it be able to stay in there. Another question I have is... what is the minimum size for a adult male Irian Jaya Carpet Python.
P.S. Sorry to mods. You can move to python section. I just wrote all this out then realized that I put it is the wrong section and I really don't want to wright it out again.

There is a care sheet on my website Care Sheet - Bladeblaster Herps (http://www.bladeblasterherps.com/care-sheet.html)
That size tank will be ok until prob 6 - 8 months old. For an adult you need to be looking at 4 x 2 x 2 tank.

Yeah it could stay in there for a couple of months or until you get an adult setup

Sounds like you are getting the raw end of the deal there mate
Now, I would say yes, a baby IJ can and will live happily in a 12x12x16 for quite a while. Put something in there so the wee one can climb, 2 hides and a water bowl. I keep my tank at about 77 cold side 82-83 warm side and about 88-90 for basking. A few degrees here and there doesn't seem to bother them. No humidity needs (ambient room of 40-50%, up to 65-70% during shed). If I were you I would get it switched to f/t rats asap.
IJ's are the smallest of the carpets. 4.5-5' for male and 5.5'-6' female. Could get bigger, might stay on the small side.

I know the 4x2x2 is a general carpet sized tank but for a Irian Jaya could it go any smaller. A 4x2x2 is a little big. I could manage it but could it go any smaller for these guys since they are a little bit smaller. I don't want them to get squished or anything so tell me the truth on this.

I wouldn't go any smaller than a 3x2x2. 2x2x2 would be too small imo. Just make sure there is stuff for it to climb on. They know how good looking they are and like to show it ;-)

If you want small cages don;t buy carpet pythons.

A 4x2x2 might be fine. I don't know. I am still trying to figure stuff out. I might not even be allowed to get another snake until my grades get higher.
