What's up guys it's been A Week Or Two I Havent Posted I Been
Busy With What We Call Life lol And Work But I Was Pretty Upset Last Night When I Got In To See Kink Doing Some Exploring Around As Usual Sometimes As He Does But He Was On Top Of His House And Pushing Up On The Top Of His Enclosure So When I Opened It To Take Him Out He Had A Cut From Rubbing And I Was So Upset Over It...I Cleaned Out His Enclosure And Then I Put Some "Aquaphor Healing" On It And Put Him Back And Took Out His House And I've Used Aquaphor Healing Ointment On My Other Reptiles Like A Retic And Some Tegus And Monitors That Got Some Bad Nose Rubs And It Worked Great...If Anyone Knows Other Wise Please Let Me Know And Also I Wanted To Ask When The Time Comes That He Goes Into Shed Do I Leave That Skin That He's Shedding On Where His Cut Is Or Do I Help Him Remove It? I Didn't Wanna Stress Him So I Snapped This Quick Picture To Share With You Guys So You Can See It....http://i438.photobucket.com/albums/qq103/li0nheart86/a24d4741.jpg

Neosporin should work. just make sure it is WITHOUT PAIN RELEIFE. Maybe switch to paper gowl for tge time being too.

i agree with deEugi, basically keep it as clean as possible so it doesn't get infected :]

btw that kinda looks like a burn. is it? or did he do that much t himself by just rubbing?

might wanna keep humidity lower for the time being. My pb had a similar head rub and healed fine after her shed

aww poor lil kink :(
That is a pretty weird spot to have a rub, and it's so..pink. Do you have a heat lamp--could it be a burn?
I would let it heal, and deal with the shed when it comes. Hopefully it will be pretty healed by then, and if humidity is good he will get it off on his own. My brazilian boa had a burn on her belly once and it blistered, popped, and she shed off the scabs. That was ages ago and she's shed perfectly fine each time.
That's the only wound kind of thing i've delt with though. We put bacitricin on her wound, i think, and kept medicine on it once a day. Was pleased when she shed, as it helped the healing.

If it is a rub...i would consider checking to see if the housing is too hot for him..or cold. Something isn't right if he's trying that hard to get out :(

kind of looks like a chunk of flesh is missing : ( Could it have been a rat/mouse bite?
If it's a rub, it looks like he got caught on the edge of something and chunked his flesh off.
Poor thing..medicine, and check humidity, temps, water, etc.!

imo,a little manuka honey does the same as using creams etc

i usually wash the wound with a dilluted iodine soloution, then a dab of manuka honey

cheers shaun
