Threw this together today, took about 2 hours total to put together, and another hour for the paint to dry, cost a whopping $46. Can't complain there.

Wow nice, I did the same thing, built my own, it was fun. How did you do it so cheap, the wood only cost me like $40, but I had to pay near $80 for the front plexiglass door. Did you get your glass or plexiglass, whatever it was you used, for free or does that $46 includes the glass or plexiglass?

$30 for the wood. $10 for the plexiglass, $6 for both pieces of track. I have a never ending supply of screws so I don't count those.. Still not done painting it so it all matches but w/e the conda is already in for the night! winner!

It's glass, not plexiglass.

Ah ok you called it plexiglass in your last post I see, still a great price for glass. Way to go on your new cage, thanks for posting.

That looks really nice. I don't see any ventilation holes at all though  or had you not drilled them in yet? Also, how do the glass doors open? did you put down a metal track of some sort?

he used plastic glass track alessia55, here it cost $28 for the glass track locally , if you can find it, i called at least 30 glass shops and checked every rona and home depot and home hardwares, and came up short. everything is so much cheeper in the states, piss me off how bad canadians get ripped off for no reason what so ever :( grats of your new cage, i build my own as well, Its easy for even the most inexperienced person and it adds alot more pride in your set up knowing you made the cage as well as set it up perfect for the loved one inside.
Yeah I couldn't build that for much less then $150 over here.. Nice cage though!

No ventilation really, a little airflow from the glass doors, but it's meant to be hot and humid for the conda, I specifically built it to hold humidity like my monitor enclosures. The doors just slide on a metal track. It was super cheap at home depot, it's technically used for drawers on like dressers or something, just a U shaped metal frame cut to size.

They are metal but close enough. Go to home depot and check the area for like shelving and storage, lots of "U track" there for shelves. Works fine :)
