Hey guys I have a 2yo ball python that has gone off food. Now I know this is not rare but I have a few concerns. Last year in the end of winter she went off food too. for about 3 months. This was stressful enough for me haha but I know thats not too irregular. Now this year she went off food about the same time and hasn't eaten since. That was almost 6 months ago..... I have been offering her f/t as always and she could not care less. Nothing has changed in her temps humidity or routine otherwise. I have tried to not worry cuz this is normal but now this seems to be a little long. I thought maybe it was longer because she was really pounding back the food like crazy before going off. I have tried smaller prey. Cutting open its head. leaving it in front of her hide overnight and not disturbing her. She never gives it even a second look. She looks like she is losing weight and I am getting worried.. Any extra suggestions??
thanks so much.

Any adverse weather recently? Snakes can sense that stuff.

By looking at her, it can be hard to tell how much weight she's actually lost. Get a scale and you'll be able to monitor exactly how much weight she's losing and how fast. Ball pythons can go off feed for a long time without any problems. Just keep offering her food every 7-10 days, the way she normally eats. Eventually she'll be hungry enough and she'll eat for you. In the meantime, double check your husbandry (temps, humidity, etc).

No change in weather. house is the same temp and I haven't moved her to another room.
Alessia55, I don't have a scale actually .. but it really is quite noticeable that she is smaller than she use to be. Even through old pictures as a reference it is noticeable. Her spine isn't crazy sticking out or anything but she has always been a little pudgy when on food and she has no pudge anymore.. if that makes sense
is 6 months not a little long for her to not be in the least bit hungry?
thank you for your replies
