well guys, after the long decision on getting another BRB, i wasnt going to at 1st, but I have decided to get another one at the expo when i go get mice, I will put off getting Royals for breeding, but i desperatly want another BRB, nothing fancy, just a normal probably male. and i will NOT absolutly NOT be putting him in a wooden viv, only tubs only... i think my dehydration problems killed my last:(
im very excited, just need to talk to the wifey!

Glad to hear you are sticking with the species, DuEuGi! I would respectfully suggest setting up your enclosure at least a week in advance and then monitoring the temp and humidity to see what they level off at.
As for an expo purchase...feel free, but be careful. The risk are higher and the quality often lower than a private breeder offers. Good luck!

Im looking forward to pics of this latest acquisition when you get him. BRBs are awesome. They are naturally beautiful snakes and even if you get a Normal, he will still be beautiful just simply because he is a BRB.

yea, like i said, i am going to be using a tub again, like i started off doing for the 1st one i had. i wont be putting him/her in a wooden viv at all, maybe when its full grown ill get a cage like you have (forget the name) or something similar. i already have the tubs, i have from 6 qt, 18qt, 32qt and 41 qt, lol. so im set there, i will get the heat and everything set up though, i might get a taller type tub for climbing purposes, i know mine liked to climb as a baby, but not so much as a yearling.... so the tub now is basically set up, just need to get the UTH on my thermostat, and some substrate in there and new hides ect... so i have everything, just need to get it ready basically.
as for the expo, there are some good breeders there, that i trust(where i got my royals at) and there are some i KNOW to stay away from... the person i plan on getting him from has them for just around $80-$90 and they a gorgeous, the also have a pair of BRB for $3000 some type of hypo something or other, not too sure. lol. so i do trust them...
i looked at some websites, and i just cant do $300 or more for a BRB right now, I looked at Living Gems, and trust me the are some of the BEST looking BRB, just a bit out of my price range... Rainbows-r-us the same, just a little too high for me now...

yea, they are, even normals are amazing, but again, i think normal royals are beautiful too.. there is just something about a brb and the irredescents it gives off! and pics will folllow trust me.

Understood, and thanks for looking. Just be careful -- expo prices are often low for a reason.
Looking forward to those pictures!

thanks snakesitter...
my thought process is this...
i have about $200 to spend on a BRB, if i can find one for cheap around $75, $80 bucks, that leaves me $100 for vet needs, IF NEED BE, not saying i want to get a sick on on purpose, just leaving me room to breath incase!
again... it wont be till the 24th, till i get the lil guy!

I'd have to side with Cliff on this one. Expo animals, specifically those from resellers, have been exposed to more than those you get directly from a breeder. Many sellers at expos are resellers, buying and selling animals. In some if not many/most cases the lower quality wholesale version. Yes there are good guys at expos (I sell at them as well) just be careful.
Also, a huge advantage from a breeder is they will know the genetics and in most cases can provide individual records on each individual. Down side is you'd be purchasing from pictures and then shipping as opposed to picking one out in person. I've shipped well over a thousand babies all over the country without any problems.
Best of luck to you no matter how you choose to proceed.

i used a 105 qrt sterlite for my BRB , hold humity great and i have vents on the sides. I used a flukers 11x11 UTH which is safe for plastic and a hyrdofarm thermostat with moss/cypress mix .

and it was cheap , about 100$ for everything . it should be good for a BRB up to 3 feet before an upgrade is needed.
