---------------
I will have to say that I first visited this place many years ago as a child, and remembered it being one of the most fantastic places on earth.
Back in 2009, during our honeymoon (when these photos were taken), I was sadly disappointed. A lot of the enclosures looked neglected: bone-dry watering areas, flies everywhere, uneaten food left in dishes, etc. I ended up writing a very lengthy letter to the management expressing my disgust at the condition of the place, and went point-by-point at the errors I saw, as an animal caregiver myself.
So if any of you have concerns about what you see in the photos, be assured they were addressed. Be that as it may, most of the reptiles appeared in relatively good condition...at least worthy of being photographed and shared here, IMO.

A lot of those animals don't look as though they're in very good condition at all.

I dunno...I suppose I've seen a lot worse in comparison. We can sit here and nitpick everything that looks wrong in each photo, and I would probably agree with most points, but I still maintain that while the bar should be higher for such an establishment across the board, the conditions the animals were kept in were worse than the animals themselves. I suppose while we're playing that game, I'll start:
1.) Yes, those alligator snappers were in too small of a tank
2.) Those timber rattlers probably need a larger water bowl, especially since there's two of them.
3.) That leopard tortoise has some pyramiding
4.) That Lacerta looks pretty rough, with its missing tail tip and all.
5.) Boy, that's a lot of rattlesnakes in one cage.

i feel sorry for the alligator snappers the most... is it possible to report this kind of stuff??? i mean they may have a license but im sure there are rules and regulations for size of living space....

Like I said, my wife and I visited this place while we were on our honeymoon 3 years ago. Being in a completely different state (and on vacation), I was kinda out of my element and handled it the best way I knew how at the time: contacting the management and voicing my concerns.
Their excuse was that they had just lost a few fulltime staff recently, and were currently trying to fill the gaps.
I guess I can go leave a negative review on Google. And in the meantime, anyone remotely close the Sevierville area in TN (close to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and KNoxville) is welcome to check the place out and see if they have improved.

The condition of the animals is directly related to the conditions of the enclosure.

It's sad that those reptiles don't look good
But the day gecko is quite cute.

The photos were taken 3 years ago, is it really worth picking fault with them as we have no idea what conditions the animals are in NOW :)
