So I recently picked up two new boas. Well I think one is a Boa I'm snake sitting one and picked the other one up off of Craigslist.

So for 20$ I came home with Storm. She has some feeding scars and was supposed to be rip your face off pissy. I have yet to see anything from her and have had her for almost a month now. She is supposed to be a Columbian but I wanted to see if that was the right locality? I don't know much about Boa locals. Also I am switching both animals to a different substrate this is what I had lying around and on pay day they will be switched.

This one is Sugar and was supposed to be very sweet. I swear this snake hates life. She hisses at every tiny little thing and strikes at anything that moves. She looked like some sort of red tail to me but again I am not sure. The person who gave her to me said she was a leopard boa?

the second one looks a little thin to me maybe with a few feedings and some handling it will calm down. and I second Jays comment its not a leopard

Just fed her, you can see the mouse in the picture. She tried killing it twice and is now working on eating as I type. They said 1 mouse every two weeks. I just tossed in two and plan to put her on the same feeding schedual as mine which is weekly.

She looks larger in the picture but I don't think she could handle a rat just yet. Few more months and then yes. She struggled with the larger mouse.

Rat fuzzies are a tad smaller to an adult mouse. Are you feeding live?

The rat fuzzies we have are a bit smaller than an adult mouse. Why would they start a snake who should be on rats on mice? I know it can be harder to get them to switch to rats that way. Even my 30 gm royal I picked up yesterday is on rat pinks.

Some hatchlings or neonates are so small that they need mouse pinkies or fuzzies because rat pinkies are just too big. I agree though, that the older they get the harder it is to switch them as Im experiencing that right now with Mick. At least hes willing to kill it now instead of runnig from it even if he leaves it for dead afterward. Maybe next time he'll eat it after he kills it. One can only hope.

Anyway, boas really should be on rats asap because it wont be long until mice no longer are enough to meet their nutritional needs.

The pic of the first boa is a bcc
Your second pic looks like a leopard
morph, not a 100% sure though.
Bcc's have between 15-20 saddles from their head to the vent.
Bci's have between 21-30 saddles...everything changes if their cross bred though

Thank you for the ID suggestion, they verywell could be crosses. I'm wondering if snake sitting will turn into snake keeping for the three. Thank you for the tip on switching her. I've never had an issue with my ball python with switching but the BP they left with me too won't eat rats and he runs from em. I feed fresh killed.

looks a bit like a hypo central American boa. wouldnt know for sure though...

The second one doesnt not look anything close to a leopard...its more closer to a Sonoran Desert boa ...i have one ill put a picture up so you can see.when i.figure how to put picture up

That 1st snake is NOT a bcc.

Saddle count is just a refferance and not to be used to properly I.D a snake.

Her tail is also not that red either. I am thinking snake 2 is a central American of some sort. I am considering taking her to an expo though in the hopes that someone might know for sure.
