Only had to eat roman noddles for a month or two lol. It is guaranteed female which I hope to test in the near future.

How will you test the sex?
nice monitor-wish other species were priced accordingly, keeps them more likely in serious hands-i hear they can get big and nasty.

No worries moe. Can't be worse then a 7th salvadorii female that is guarding a nest and Hungary as can be. Just need to keep eating roman noddles and aim for a male.

Seems tri-colors hit the market last month. I grabbed this one up from underground reptiles. It is now my second monitor. Not sure how many keep keep up with other forums but I had a huge fire that burnt my shop down. It was right after my salvadorii and tristis laid eggs. I lost everything but some snakes and my female ackie. It was a mega bummer that I was going to just step out of the hobby. My female ackie ended up laying 9 eggs (appear to be good still) which picked my spirits up. I decided to not go large for sometime and this tri-color gives me the attitude of crocs in a smaller package.

Wow.. so sorry for your loss... That monitor is a beauty.
i remember seeing an ad not that long ago saying they were a small arboreal species, instead of a larger medium sized monitor that is thought to ambush prey from their burrows. LOL.
Gatorhunter sorry for your loss,i knew you kept larger species so i know it would be in good hands. If other species had such a high pricetag it might deter some from buying these animals.

Agree on the pricing issue. That is always a sad subject.
